Connect OBD Vault to your AI assistant

Review vehicle diagnostics and trip history saved in the OBD Vault mobile app and synced to your account.

Before connecting

Sign in to OBD Vault and enable Cloud Sync/MCP access. Sync your vehicle records. Capturing new records requires the mobile app and a compatible ELM327 OBD-II adapter. Reading already synced history does not require a currently connected adapter.

Connect in Claude

  1. Open Claude's connector settings and add a custom web connector named OBD Vault.
  2. Enter https://mcp.obd-vault.com/mcp.
  3. Select OAuth sign-in and automatic client registration (DCR).
  4. Sign in to your OBD Vault account and explicitly allow MCP diagnostics access.
  5. In a conversation, ask Claude to list your vehicles and select the vehicle you want to review.

What you can ask

Available tools

list_vehicles, get_vehicle_profile, get_latest_status, list_scan_sessions, get_scan_session, get_observations, aggregate_observations, get_dtc_history, get_dtc_context, get_data_quality, create_vehicle_export.

Scope and privacy

Access is limited to the signed-in account's synced records. The connector cannot read live phone telemetry, control a vehicle, clear ECU codes, change diagnostic records, or book repairs. Export requests create temporary download artifacts. Data coverage depends on what your adapter and vehicle recorded; missing data is not a diagnosis.

Disconnect the connector in your AI assistant when you no longer want it connected. For account help or access revocation assistance, contact support.
